For those that have been
asking
and concerened - here are representative photos from the storm of
August
10. It was a severe straight line cell, equivalent to an F2 tornado,
but
not cylconic. Thankfully it hit at 12:45 am, so there were no injuries
or
deaths. Within the area it hit which was about 20 miles long and
2-3
miles wide, about 9 houses were condemned. Power was restored to us in
37
1/2/ hours, one of the last to be put back on line other than those
that
had lines torn from the house boxes. Roads in the area were closed for
two
days, and the two towns invovled declared state of emergencies which
ran
their full week span. Even at this date, September 10, there is not a
day
without chainsaws and chippers still going continually within hearing
distance.
Many properties are not yet restored to what will be the new norm; we
are
with great thanks to an angel crew from New Hackensack Reformed Church,
who
cleared all debris that the tree service did not (which was a LOT).
Repairs
are still pending on the house due to theimclement weather of the
summer
in total- roofing crews are way behind. Click
